What is an

Independent Contractor?

At Halo Land Management, we proudly partner with experienced, self-driven professionals who operate as Independent Contractors. Here’s what that means:

Self-Managed Taxes

As an Independent Contractor, you are responsible for managing your own tax obligations. This includes filing and paying both estimated income and self-employment taxes.

Halo does not withhold any taxes from contractor payments.

You will receive a 1099-NEC form annually for the services your business provides.

Responsibility for Business Expenses

Contractors are fully responsible for the operation of their business. This includes:
  • Procuring their own tools, supplies, and software
  • Providing and maintaining necessary insurance
  • Covering repair costs and other business-related expenses

Control Over Work & Schedule

Independent Contractors working with Halo maintain full control of their business decisions. You have the right to:
  • Accept or decline project opportunities
  • Set your own schedule and availability
  • Negotiate payment terms and project rates

Partnering With Halo

We value entrepreneurial spirit, professionalism, and accountability. As an Independent Contractor with Halo, you’re treated as a respected partner—not an employee.
