If you ever get the chance to meet Dustin, congrats! You have officially met the only person you will ever meet from Rising Star, Texas. Dustin got his start in the oil and gas industry in 2004 working his way through college as a roustabout and rig relief for Eastland Operating in Ranger Texas. Upon finishing his degree in Energy Commerce/Petroleum Land Management from Texas Tech University in 2009, he went to work for Chesapeake Energy in Oklahoma City. He moved to Ohio in 2010 to be a part of the Utica Shale field operations team as a lease negotiator. He spent time working across SE Ohio and NE Pennsylvania as a crew chief and was promoted to Chesapeake Energy’s Land Supervisor for the Utica Shale in 2013. Dustin left Chesapeake Energy in 2015 and went on to found Halo Land Management later that year. The company started with four employees and over the last 4 years has grown to numerous plays nationwide. When he isn’t at the Halo office, Dusty spends his time with his family. He and his wife, Mallory, are always on the go with their three kids. Dusty enjoys sport shooting, farming, fishing with his kids, and Big 12 Football!
